Fire bosses say a blaze that claimed the life of a woman in her 70’s in north Staffordshire last week was a “tragic accident”. She was pronounced dead by the ambulance service following the fire, which happened on Mallorie Road in Norton on the 10th of December. A number of dogs were rescued from the scene. An investigation into the cause confirmed that the blaze was started by the disposal of cigarettes.
