Stoke-on-Trent is to get a mass vaccination centre to immunise people against Covid-19.
Stoke North MP Jonathan Gullis was reassured by Health Secretary Matt Hancock following a question he raised in the Commons.
A location has been sorted and supplies and equipment are on their way. It’s hoped the centre will be up and running on the 25th of January.
Meanwhile Alton Towers is to test both local people and resort staff without Coronavirus symptoms, in a bid to stop an increase in cases across Staffordshire.
Bosses at the theme park which is currently closed due to the lockdown, say they wanted to play their part in helping keep both employees and its local community safe during the pandemic.
Staff have this week been trained to carry out regular Covid tests on colleagues, ahead of a community testing session for residents in Alton, Oakamoor and Farley tomorrow.
