Firefighter loses battle with Coronavirus

It is with great sadness that Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirm a serving firefighter has died.
48-year-old firefighter based at Hanley has died from Coronavirus.
Father of two, Alec Elwell, a Crew manager had served at a number of stations across the county during the last 15 years.
Chief Fire Officer Becci Bryant says she was devastated and shocked at the sudden loss of a colleague. She says he was a dedicated firefighter, who was committed to making a difference to the communities he served.
