Beware of Fake Police Officers

The public are being warned following reports of fake police officers trying to con money out of residents in Cheshire.
It’s claimed fraudsters are telling victims they must hand over thousands of pounds to ‘clear their name’ for potential arrest and charges.
In some cases, scammers have even asked for gift cards to be purchased.
Police bosses say they’ll never use phone calls to tell you about a penalty or ask for payment.
