The top health boss in Stoke-on-Trent has written to all supermarkets in the city reminding them of the guidance as part of the ongoing fight against Coronavirus.
Paul Edmondson-Jones says over 500 people have died in the Potteries in the last twelve months while currently nearly 400 people are in the Royal Stoke hospital battling Covid-19. Of those, 58 are in critical care while more than 40 are on ventilators.
He says many residents have expressed concern that stores aren’t being strict on mask wearing and social distancing. He also says managers of stores have a key role to play in helping to control the spread of Coronavirus.
