A six per cent rise in the amount paid through council tax towards policing in Staffordshire has been agreed by the Police, Fire and Crime panel.
It means a 26 pence increase a week for residents living in a Band D property.
Commissioner Matthew Ellis says since he first set the local tax for policing in 2013, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent have seen the second smallest increase of all 43 police force areas nationally.
