All local care homes offered vaccine

Every eligible care home in Stoke-on-Trent has now been offered the Covid-19 vaccine, with 93 per cent of residents in care homes across the city receiving their first dose.
The remaining residents will be vaccinated over the coming days as they may have previously tested positive for COVID-19 or were in homes where there were small outbreaks. This comes as Stoke-on-Trent currently has the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in care homes across the West Midlands.
Meanwhile residents who live in Hanley and surrounding areas are being urged to get tested following a spike in positive cases.
Although cases are widespread, latest figures show that Hanley, Etruria, Tunstall, Shelton, Lightwood and Normacot are the areas with the highest rates.
It comes as four more community testing venues will open this week. Weston Coyney Village Hall, Florence Colliery Social Welfare Club, Christ Church in Tunstall will open tomorrow and Sneyd Green Community Hub will open Thursday.
