Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their first child – a son – Buckingham Palace has announced.
The baby was born at London’s Portland Hospital at 8.55am on Tuesday 9 February, the same hospital where the Duchess of Sussex had her baby, Archie.
Eugenie’s son weighed 8lbs 1oz.
The palace said Mr Brooksbank was at Eugenie’s side during the birth and that both mother and child are “doing well”.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are “delighted”.
The royal baby is the Queen’s ninth great-grandchild.

The new parents announced the birth on Eugenie’s Instagram account, where she posted a picture of their hands cradling the tiny fingers and wrist of their baby.

She captioned it with blue hearts and exclamation marks.
The baby is 11th in line to the throne, and his birth means the Queen and Philip’s youngest son the Earl of Wessex, who was third in line when he was born in 1964, has moved down to 12th place in the line of succession.
The baby will be Master Brooksbank and will not hold an HRH title unless the Queen intervenes to give Mr Brooksbank an earldom or issue a Letters Patent, which is thought to be unlikely.
Eugenie, 30, announced her pregnancy in September, almost two years after she married Mr Brooksbank, who is European brand director of Casamigos Tequila, co-founded by the actor George Clooney.
Eugenie is a director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth in London.
