Crewe boss Dave Artell says he won’t take any risks with Charlie Kirk.
He’s been an unused substitute for the club’s last two games after complaining of a tight hamstring.
Crewe have already suffered long-term injuries to Donervon Daniels, Callum Ainley and Luke Offord.
Artell says Charlie will have to be 100 per cent right before he steps back onto a football pitch.
Meanwhile defender Billy Sass-Davies has joined National League Yeovil on a months loan.
Crewe’s captain says he has unfinished business at the club.
Harry Pickering has taken over the armband following Perry Ng’s departure to Cardiff. Pickering himself signed for Blackburn on deadline day, but returned to the Alex on loan for the rest of the season.
The left back who’s been at Crewe since he was 11, says his aim now is to help the Alex have a successful season.
