Crewe have moved swiftly to sign up leading scorer Mikael Mandron for another season.
The 26-year-old Frenchman, whose netted nine goals in all competitions so far this season, has penned a new deal until the summer of 2022.
Meanwhile manager Dave Artell praised Donervon Daniels following the 2-0 win over Accrington on Tuesday night.
It was the defenders first full game in over four months after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Crewe manager David Artell says he’s looking forward to playing one of the best sides in the division tomorrow when they host Sunderland.
The Alex were beaten 1-0 earlier in the season, but Artell said the score line flattered us because they had a lot of the ball and created good chances.
Crewe, who are 11th are just seven points behind their opponents who are currently 5th in the table.
