Stoke City Take on Swansea

Written by on 3 March 2021

Stoke City’s manager Michael O’Neill says he was disappointed with Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at promotion chasing Brentford.

The Potters had led at the break thanks to Jacob Brown’s goal after just 27 seconds. The home side hit back with two second half goals.

O’Neill said his side had chances but they failed to take them.

The Potters go into Wednesday nights clash with fourth placed Swansea just seven points off the top six.

Meanwhile Sam Clucas could be out for eight weeks after a double hernia operation while James McClean is likely to be out for six weeks with a foot injury.

Stoke are confident Steven Fletcher will be fit for  Wednesday night’s clash with Swansea.

The striker who missed Saturday’s game at Brentford with a groin injury returned to training yesterday.

Michael O’Neill is hopeful he doesn’t suffer any reaction and will be available for the game as the Potters aim to bounce back to winning ways following successive away defeats.
