Mental Health Helpline supporting more people than ever

Nearly 28 thousand calls have been made to a 24-hour mental health helpline since it launched in November in Stoke-on-Trent.
653 of those calls were from people who said they were feeling suicidal.
The helpline, which was set up by the city council and Brighter Futures, also had over a thousand calls from people who said they hadn’t contacted the helpline before it became a 24-hour support service.
The figures have been revealed as the country marks Mental Health Awareness Week.
