Indian Variant of Covid in Staffordshire
Written by Hitmix News Team on 19 May 2021
Ten cases of the Indian Covid-19 variants have been found in Staffordshire.
Health bosses say they’re working closely with Public Health England to make sure all cases have their contacts traced and managed, so they can identify and isolate any further cases.
There’s no evidence to suggest it’s spread to the wider community while there are no plans for mass testing.
Meanwhile a quarter-of-a-million Covid tests have been given to residents at local testing sites in Staffordshire.
The county council’s been offering tests to residents without symptoms since Autumn 2020, both at community sites and from mobile pop-up testing vans.
