Stars from showbiz, music and entertainment are took part in a charity football match at Hanley Town on Sunday.

The likes of Ray Quinn, James Arthur, Arg from Towie and Shayne Ward joined ex-Stoke players’

Tickets for the game in support of the charity Men Unite sold out.

Triple jumper Ben Williams from Newcastle has booked his place at next months Olympic Games.

He came first in the British trials in Manchester with a seasons best of 16 metres and 37 centimetres.

Stoke’s Jazmin Sawyers will be joining him after winning the women’s long jump.

 The draw for the first round of the League Cup has been made.

Stoke City will be at home to Fleetwood, Port Vale entertain Sunderland and Crewe are away at Hartlepool.

The ties are taking place in the week commencing August the 9th.

What’s happening at Crewe Alexandra …..

Crewe have signed Kayne Ramsey on a season long loan from Premier League outfit Southampton.

The 20-year-old right back becomes the clubs second summer signing following the arrival of striker Christopher Long from Motherwell.

Kayne, who joined the Saints in 2017 from Chelsea, has made two Premier League appearances and also featured twice in the FA Cup.

Ryan Wintle has left the club and joined Championship side Cardiff on a free transfer.

The midfielder has signed a three year deal with the Welsh club.

Wintle will link up with former Crewe skipper Perry Ng.

Crewe’s manager says bringing in a centre half is a priority.

Dave Artell has already signed three players but is keen on recruiting a defender following the departure of Omar Beckles.

But Artell says they will continue to act astutely in the transfer market.

What’s happening at Stoke City …..

Stoke City’s Ryan Woods has joined fellow Championship outfit Birmingham City on a permanent deal.

The midfielder has spent the last season and a half on loan at Millwall.

But the 27-year-old has now penned a three year deal at St Andrew’s.

 

And, there’s one defender in and one out at Stoke City.

They’ve signed Ben Wilmot from Watford for an undisclosed fee.

The England under-21 star has penned a four year deal.

 

Nathan Collins has left the club and joined Premier League Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

Stoke City are signing Gillingham goalkeeper Jack Bonham.

The 27-year-old will become the clubs second signing of the summer following the arrival of Ben Wilmot last week.

Bonham has spent the past two seasons with the Gills making more than 80 league and cup appearances.

 What’s happening at Port Vale …..

Port Vale have signed Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Covolan.

The 30-year-old has penned a two year deal after joining from Torquay United.

Boss Darrell Clarke says he’s hungry to prove he’s a league-level player and we feel he has all the attributes to succeed at this level.

 

The club have also signed defender Ryan Johnson from Hartlepool.  The 24-year-old has agreed a two year deal with the Valiants.

 

The Vale have also signed goalkeeper Aidan Stone from Mansfield.

The Stafford-born 21-year-old will join on July the first after agreeing a one year deal with the option of a further twelve months.

 

And another two players have arrived at Port Vale – midfielder Tom Pett from Stevenage on a two year deal, while defender Mal Benning from Mansfield has agreed a one year contract.
