Items to remain on graved at Silverdale cemetery

Newcastle Borough Council says it won’t be removing any items from graves at Silverdale cemetery.

Notices had been put in place to remind visitors that excessive numbers of pots, vases and statues placed on graves without permission weren’t allowed.

The local authority who received a number of complaints say they’ve listened to public concerns and won’t now be taking away any items.

The Council has also asked for the support of families’ in keeping the cemetery tidy for all visitors.
