Mario Vrancic to play alongside Nick Powell at Stoke City

Stoke City’s assistant manager Dean Holden says new boy Mario Vrancic can play alongside Nick Powell in midfield.

Many felt that the pair were in direction competition for a place but Holden says the first half performance at Crewe on Tuesday proved they can play together.

He says Mario got on the ball in some good areas and his set piece delivery was outstanding.
