Op Tramline is a collaborative operation involving officers from Staffordshire Police, Central Motorway Police Group and National Highways, designed to identify and address drivers on the A38, A5, A34 and A449 who do not meet the expected standards of responsible road use.

Fifty separate offences were recorded over five days in Op Tramline with mobile phone offences amongst the most prominent (23 offences). Failure to wear a seatbelt was identified 17 times, with other drivers committing drink/drug offences, failure to stop at red lights, no insurance and insecure loads.

Two Staffordshire Police officers have been recognised at a national awards ceremony for going above and beyond the line of duty and showing extraordinary bravery.  Sergeant Amos Durose and PC Kristian Avons were awarded Bravery Awards at this year’s Police Federation Bravery Awards held in London last week

These Awards honour officers who have performed incredible acts of bravery, while on or off duty.

Sgt Durose and PC Avons were recognised for demonstrating great bravery and professionalism to disarm a man threatening the life of a woman being held against her will, which resulted in a conviction of the offender

PC Avons said: “To win a national police bravery award really is truly humbling and came as an unexpected surprise. We’re honoured to have been recognised.
