02.11.21 – Local Plan for NUL, SCC Mental Health Survey, New Vic Celebrates 60 years, SOT Bus Service improvements

Written by on 1 November 2021

A six-week consultation exercise has been launched to gather residents’ views on the first draft of a new Local Plan for Newcastle-under-Lyme

The Council is carrying out a borough-wide public engagement campaign to gauge opinion on its Issues and Strategic Options document.

This is the first stage in the process, and identifies key planning issues facing the borough until at least 2040, and potential options to address them.

So be sure to have your say.  You can view the new proposals and submit comments online at https://consult.newcastle-staffs.gov.uk  until 5pm on Monday, 13 December.

Residents in Staffordshire are being asked to share how their mental health is, in a survey that will influence how organisations approach the issue.

The survey, which has been launched by Staffordshire County Council, aims to understand how people are feeling, what has affected their mental wellbeing both negatively and positively, and what can be learned moving forward.

Data from the survey—which will be confidential—will be used to develop a new strategy, to influence what needs to be addressed over the next five years.

You have until 12th November and details can be found on the Staffordshire County Council website.  (use the link below)

The first production in the New Vic’s year of celebrations will be the much anticipated Marvellous, based on the extraordinary life of local man Neil Baldwin, known to many in our area as Nello.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has outlined its ambitious plan to improve bus services across the city.

The council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan has been submitted to central Government who have pledged funding to improve bus services, showing plans to increase passenger numbers and improve reliability and journey times across Stoke on Trent.

The high-quality package of proposals put forward cover two phases, with the first phase seeking funding to enable local bus operators to continue providing their current levels of service once the Government’s emergency Covid-19 Bus Recovery Grant finishes in April 2022.
