Repairs on A53, Closure Order in Abbey Hulton

Significant repairs are starting on the A53 carriageway this week, thanks to a £220,000 highways investment.
The scheme on the A53 Newcastle Road, crossing the Baldwin’s Gate railway bridge, will see highways crews replacing ironwork and damaged kerbs as they completely resurface the carriageway.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place from 19 February to 18 March to keep the public and work force safe. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Weather permitting, the road is currently scheduled to close overnight from 11 March to 13 March from 7pm to 6am so the carriageway can be resurfaced.
The scheme will cost £220,000 to complete and take around five weeks to complete.

Staffordshire Police have secured a closure order at a property in Stoke-on-Trent following persistent anti-social behaviour reports. The property, on Abbey Road, Abbey Hulton, will be closed until 14 May 2024.Police gathered evidence of criminal activity at the location after acting on the concerns of the local community and It now means that no one can go inside the address for the next three months.
