Jack Russell MBE – Art Exhibition – Trent Art in Brunswick Street

Written by on 30 November 2022

Trent Art in Brunswick Street in Newcastle are set to open an exhibition by National cricketer Jack Russell MBE.  Jack, who was wicket keeper for Gloucestershire and England began painting as a result of frustration at being stuck inside cricket pavilions when “rain stopped play.”

His paintings hang in public and private collections worldwide, from the Tower of London to The Bradman Museum in Australia. Sittings for his portrait paintings have included HRH Duke of Edinburgh and many sporting icons.  The exhibition ‘A journey through Staffordshire’ runs from Thursday 1st December right through until 7th January and everyone is welcome to view the exhibition which includes pencil drawings of areas of recognisable places across our county.  If you want to meet Jack, he will be there on Thursday at 6pm – and a nicer chap you couldn’t wish to meet!!
