20.04.23 – Keele University Supports local economy, Burglary in NUL last September

A new independent report has revealed that Keele University contributes around £345 million annually to the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire economy, supporting more than 5,500 jobs in the area.

Regarding Newcastle, the report said over 39% of the University workforce lived in the borough, spending their salaries locally thus creating further economic impact.

In total, the report estimates that Keele’s business support activities have positively impacted over 175 businesses here in Newcastle.

Staffordshire police have released pictures of two men they wish to speak to in relation to a burglary in Newcastle-under-Lyme last September

The two men were seen entering the premises on London Road during the early hours of 7 September between 3.30am and 4am.

The victim reported stationary items, mattress protectors and a quantity of keys were stolen.

One of the men was described as white, in his mid-20s, and wearing a grey jacket, a dark-coloured cap and a white t-shirt, The other man was described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, and wearing a grey tracksuit jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, black trainers and a black beanie hat.   Inquiries are ongoing.
