Chimney Safety SFRS, Hilton Road closure RSUH, Pitch invasion at PVFC, Robbie Williams New Role

Written by on 6 February 2024

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are issuing a safety reminder to people across the county to take extra precautions when using chimneys following two separate incidents recently, one in Newcastle and one in Leek.  Both fires were quickly extinguished and, thankfully, no one was injured.

Station Manager Mark Tattum said: “Accidental fires caused by people heating their homes are more commonplace over the winter period, and that’s why we’re urging residents to make sure they’re aware of the risks and how they can prevent them.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue is reminding residents across Staffordshire to Be Warm, Be Safe. With household costs such as rent, food and energy bills rising you may be looking at ways to save money and cheaper ways to heat your home this winter.  Their message is, don’t make cuts when it comes to fire safety.

The 62 year old, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with going onto the playing area at the fixture and using threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear or violence.  He has been given conditional police bail and will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 7 March.

And finishing with some good news for Port Vale fans … the club has appointed a new Club President and it is non other than local singing sensation and port vale supporter,  Robbie Williams!
