17th May 2025 – WAT a Run Event – Clayton Hall Academy

Written by on 15 May 2025

The Windsor Academy Trust which includes local school Clayton Hall are doing a ‘WAT a Run’ event this weekend.   This is only the 3rd year the event has happened across the Trust, and the 2nd time that Clayton Hall academy have taken part –
I do remember this from last year.  It’s all to raise funds for the schools Bed & Breakfast Foundation, which aims to provide a bed and/or breakfast to young people in need.  It’s a very long run, with participants running between each and every school in the Windsor Trust over a 2-day event. Clayton Hall Academy are proud to be at  the finish line of Day One.  They’ve got a fun community event planned to greet the runners, from 1-3pm. They are calling it the ‘Clayton Carnival’ – an unforgettable day of fun, games, and community spirit! Everyone is invited to witness the finish line of the first day of “WAT a Run” as four amazing Clayton Hall members of their staff cross the line, raising funds for the WAT Foundation.  They anticipate the runners arrival at approx. 2.25pm but the event will go on from 1 til 3. There will be  Performances by the schools award-winning bands & musicians, A pre-loved book stall & tombola. … Inflatable games brought to you by BeeActive – always great fun!  …. Plenty of refreshments and an ice-cream van – so a real family day out. And it is going to be very sunny!!

Across the Trust, we’re aiming to raise £50,000. This is the schedule for Saturday Leg 1 – Greenway Primary Academy – Milton Primary Academy Leg 2 – Milton Primary Academy – Sir Thomas Boughey Academy

Leg 3 – Sir Thomas Boughey Academy – Newcastle Academy Leg 4 – Newcastle Academy – Clayton Hall Academy

The ‘Bed & Breakfast’ campaign is central to the mission of the Windsor Academy and Clayton Hall, Milton Primary, Sir Thomas Boughey and Newcastle Academy and all of the others: ensuring every young person in their schools has a bed to sleep in and breakfast to start their day. It is something we don’t really think about but not everyone has their own bed – it is something that we all take for granted.  Good luck to everyone taking part on Saturday and don’t forget, you are very welcome to join everyone at Clayton Hall Academy between 1 and 3.
