Written by Hitmix Local News on 19 January 2023
Here’s one that is very close to the Hitmix studios – through until 10th March, every Friday in the Pensioners Hall Audley. 9:30am – 3pm. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available all day, free in the afternoons. Join them in a warm safe environment, pet and children friendly, accessible toilets and a place to chat, read a magazine, do your knitting or crochet or play cards or dominoes. Bring your own lunch and stay for the day if you like. This is being run by St James Church in conjunction with the Mothers Union and is free to enter. Please pass on the word to anyone struggling with paying heating bills this winter. Everyone welcome from Wood Lane, Bignall End, Miles Green, Halmerend, Alsagers Bank and the surrounding areas

Just a thought – for families who are struggling – have you joined your local library? A lot of local libraries are providing warm spaces There are so many books for all the family – you can download books on line or visit the library and have a look at what they have got – and nowadays there is far more to libraries than books. I think a visit to the library is an outing as well – we used to love going to the library when we were young. Go to your local library and join up – there is a great one here in Newcastle by the Queens Gardens in Castle House.
