12.07.23 – Man Stabbed in Abbey Hulton, SFRS rescue Dog in Bucknall, Dimensions Turns 30!

Staffordshire Police have arrested three people after a man was stabbed in Stoke-on-Trent on Monday night.

Police were called to a field opposite Abbey Road, in Abbey Hulton, at just after 8 o’clock on Monday night following reports that a man had been stabbed in the street.  On arrival Officers found the victim, a man in his 20s, with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital by paramedics where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 19-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.  A 17-year-old boy, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm, and A 42-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Firefighters rescued a trapped dog from near a river in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday.
A crew from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service in Hanley were called to Fenton Road, Bucknall, at around 6pm, and on arrival found a dog trapped on a ledge near a shallow river.  Using a short extension ladder, the dog was brought to safety by crews and was returned to its owner in just 20 minutes

And finally, congratulations to Dimensions Leisure Centre which is celebrating turning 30 today!  Two staff members, Jenny Lincoln-Evans and Roger Moore have both worked at the Burslem leisure centre since it opened and still have fond memories of the opening day 30 years ago.

Dimensions Leisure Centre is open Monday to Friday from 6:15am till 10pm and weekends 7.15am till 6pm.

Membership at the centre is £25 per month and global membership which gives you access to selected facilities and classes at Shapes Health and Leisure Club at Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Dimensions Leisure Centre and Wallace Sport and Education Centre is £35 per month.
