25.07.23 – Kidsgrove Sports Centre Community Open Day

It is 12 months since Kidsgrove Sports Centre re-0pened!! To celebrate they are opening their doors for a FREE ‘Community Day’ with free activities for everyone. Kidsgrove is a special Gym because it had been closed 2017 by the council, but with grants and a lot of effort it was opened as a charitable Community enterprise. It has been a lot of hard work especially with the energy prices increasing over the last 12 months – imagine the cost of heating a pool!!. But they have hung in there and they have welcomed over 45,000 visitors this year and taught over 1000 children to swim … and that is amazing!! Don’t forget the open day next Tuesday – and on Monday in local and live, Jane will be chatting to Mark Clews who is ‘chair of the Trustees’
