Staffordshire County Councils Cabinet met on Wednesday to discuss and consider a number of county strategies.
Proposals accepted included two strategies to Support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), The ’Staffordshire Adaptation Strategy’ addressing the issues caused by climate change, and the rollout of the Staffordshire Warmer Homes initiative which aims to bring eco-friendly heating solutions to rural residences, aligning with the county’s vision of sustainability.

Opening times at City Council run tips will change this autumn, and will for the first time allow residents to dispose of waste in the evening, outside of normal working hours.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council will be operating revised opening hours at both of its Household Waste and Recycling Centres, at Hanford and Burslem, from 1 October.
The changes will incorporate a new schedule every Thursday at Hanford, which will open and close later, allowing people to discard of rubbish later in the day, and outside of typical working hours. Changes at Burslem mean that the site, at Federation Road, will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which brings it in line with the Hanford site which is also closed on these days, but the site will no longer be closed on Thursdays.
