Written by Hitmix Local News on 30 December 2023
Children and families in Stoke-on-Trent will have access to a brand new, state-of-the art soft play facility in Hanley Market thanks to funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has been awarded £9,477,820 from the UKSPF to deliver projects which support local businesses, improve local spaces and assist residents with employment and skills.
The project is part of Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Family Support Programme and will create a soft play provision which will be supported by a programme of activities. The activities will be based around a number of themes, including positive parenting, increasing physical activity and improving health and wellbeing.
Alongside the soft play area, a facility will be created to provide residents with financial MOTs, access to the wider Family Support network of activities and other support services.

More patients in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent can now access their medical records online than almost anywhere else in the country.
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent now lead the country in online patient record access, with over 97 per cent of practices offering this service, surpassing the national 90 per cent target. This allows patients to efficiently access their complete medical records from home, giving them control over their healthcare whilst saving time and money. This new system change also helps GPs to be more efficient with their care for other patients by reducing waiting times.
