Seths Legacy – Remembering Seth and Raising Awareness ofPancreatic Cancer

Written by on 21 February 2024

I saw a post on twitter today by Lesley Goodburn who runs Seth’s Legacy.  Lesley lost her husband Seth through pancreatic cancer 10 years ago in June and Lesley spreads awareness about this terrible disease, which is one of the most cruel cancers.  Less than 7% of people diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer survive for 5 years or more.  There are always exceptions of course, but the main thing about pancreatic cancer is that most people can’t even name one symptom of it.  So I am going to tell you what the symptoms are …..

If you have jaundice go straight to your GP or A&E.  If you have any of the other symptoms for 4 weeks or more and don’t know why you have them, go to your GP.  Don’t worry unnecessarily, these symptoms can also have more common causes.  I am just making sure that everyone knows what the symptoms are because, like all cancers, the sooner they are identified and treated the better.  28 people are diagnosed every day with Pancreatic cancer, and unfortunately half of the  cases are identified in A&E.
